Date:Qing Dynasty(1644-1912)

Dimensions: Length: 131cm; Weight: 464g

Origin: Collected in 1950s

This silver buckle chain comprises hooks, hanging pendants and main chins. There are hooks, hanging pendants and hanging chains on both ends, of similar shape and design. The hooks are incised with designs of butterflies and fruits, the hanging pendants with designs of lotus and gold fish, and the hanging chains tied with tassels; the main chains consist of plum blossoms, four in each set, linked up by loops.

The silver buckle chain displays sophisticated workmanship of carving, moulding and soldering, producing a tree-shaped dimensional effect.

It was easy for Miao women to put on and take off the silver buckle chain. Miao women liked wearing the chain on the chest, with the shining silver tassels making a clear tinkling sound.
