Paintings of Flowers depicts more than twelve flowers such as water lily, pear blossom, narcissus, peach blossom, alumroot, poppy, camellia, guava, morning glory, double phoenix, cassia twig and wild goose-coming-red, etc. The painter adopted a new painting skill, that is, stippling directly without sketching the outline. His stippling skill is free and elegant. The twelve flowers hold different kinds of beauty. The color is bright but elegant, and the tone is clear and gorgeous, with a sense of proud charming in elegance. On these paintings, the painter either inscribed his name or wrote poems. The free, elegant and vigorous calligraphy go together with the bright and elegant painting style, bringing out the best in each other, and making the picture more appealing. The painting volume is a fine work of Yin Shouping.

Yun Shouping (1633-1690), original name Ge, courtesy name Shouping, studio name Nantian, was a native of Wujin (now Changzhou in Jiangsu Province). His poems are elegant, his calligraphy vigorous. He was skillfully good at paintings of landscape, especially flowers without sketch. His paintings are vivid and charming.
